Course messages are private and secure text-based communication that occurs within your course among course members.
Although similar to email, you must be logged in to a course to read and send course messages. Messages activity remains inside the system, and you don't have to worry about email addresses that may be incorrect or outdated.

How do I send a Course Message? (Original Course)
Everyone can use messages for reminders, quick questions, and social interactions. If your institution allows, you can attach files from your computer to your messages.
Can I add a Course Message link? (Original Course)
In Edit Mode, select the Add Menu Item icon above the course menu to access the menu.
Select Tool Link and type a name.
From the Type menu, select Messages.
Select the Available to Users check box if you're ready for students to see it.
