Your Lecturer will use tests and assignments to assess your understanding of course content and objectives. Your instructor assigns point values to questions in a test. You submit your test for grading and the results are recorded. You can view your grades when your instructor makes them available to you.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my assignments?


Your lecturer can add assignments to different areas of your course. In many cases you might access assignments from a link in the course menu called "assignments". Or your lecturer may incorporate assignments into each weeks content. Ask your instructor if you are unsure how your course is orangised.




How do I submit an assignment?


When you finish your assignment, you must select Submit. If you don't, your instructor won't receive your completed assignment. Access the assignment. On the Upload Assignment page, review the instructions, due date, points possible, and download any files provided by your instructor. If your instructor has added a rubric for grading, you can view it. Select Write Submission to expand the area where you can type your submission. You can use the options in the editor to format the text. You have creative control over how your content appears and the flexibility to change the order and appearance. -OR- Select Browse My Computer to upload a file from your computer. -OR- Drag files from your computer to the "hot spot" in the Attach Files area. If your browser allows, you can also drag a folder of files. The files will upload individually. If the browser doesn't allow you to submit your assignment after you upload a folder, select Do not attach in the folder's row to remove it. You can drag the files individually and submit again. You can use the file name or provide another name for the file. -OR- Browse for a file in cloud storage. You can instantly connect to multiple web apps where you store files, such as in OneDrive and Google Drive. Select Submit. The Review Submission History page appears with information about your submitted assignment and a success message with a confirmation number. Copy and save this number as proof of your submission. For assignments with multiple attempts, you receive a different number for each submission. If your institution has enabled email notifications for submission receipts, you'll also receive an email with your confirmation number and details each time you submit coursework.




Can I save my assignment as a draft?


On the Upload Assignment page, select Save Draft to save your work and continue later. Your text and files are saved on the page. When you return, you can resume working.

  1. Return to your assignment and select the assignment title.
  2. On the Review Submission History page, select Continue.
  3. On the Upload Assignment page, make your changes.
  4. Optionally, type Comments about your submission.
  5. Select Submit. The Review Submission History page appears with information about your submitted assignment.




Where do I find my tests?


Similar to assignments, tests can be found in any content area, speak to your lecturer to ind out how your course has been structured.




I have to take a Blackboard test, what things should I consider?


  • Start your test as soon as you can. If your instructor makes a test available for three days, plan to take the test early on the first day. If you have an issue, you will have time to contact technical support and your instructor.
  • Read all of the instructions. If you have any trouble with your test or understanding test questions, contact your instructor immediately.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Don't refresh the page, close the window, or use the browser's back button while you take a test. If you have problems during a test, contact your instructor immediately.




How do I submit a video assignment?


1. Locate your assignment and click on it to begin 2. Choose the write submission option 3. Choose the Mashups option and select medial 4. You may need to sign into Medial - use your normal student number/username and password to sign in. 5. Choose either to upload, search or use your webcam, to add your video submission. 6. Once you have uploaded your submission wait for it to finish uploading and then select your video. 7. Once you have selected your video choose submit and wait for the assigment to finish submitting.
